I gave my life to Christ when I was 8 years old at FBC Oneonta through the influence of my parents and Sunday School teachers. I didn't understand entirely what I was doing but I do know that God entered my life that Sunday morning. When I was 13 at a fifth quarter, through a guest speaker and the Holy Spirit, I began to realize that Christianity was not a one time decision. I knew then that I had responsibilities as a Christian and that my life was no longer my own. Since that night my life has been a process of dying to the things of the flesh and allowing Jesus to live through me. It hasn't always been easy and some things didn't go without a fight, but knowing that God is in control of my life has brought a satisfaction that I can't get anywhere else. One of my favorite passages of scripture comes out of I Corinthians 6. There Paul closes his thought by saying, "You do not belong to yourself, for God bought you with a high price."
