A MESSAGE…

I rejoice in Your word as one who finds great treasure. Psalm 119:162

Do I truly rejoice in God’s word? That’s the question I often ask myself. Do I view God’s word in such a way that it makes me more joyful than great treasure? That’s something we all could think about. Think about all the things that make you excited or that you enjoy the most. Does reading God’s word make you that excited or bring you that much joy? Sadly, I would say that there are very few of us who could answer yes to that question. Something doesn’t even have to make you all excited, but if you give it more time than God’s word…you rejoice in that thing more. Think about it…Let’s say there was a hidden treasure and you found it. In that treasure you found billions of dollars in coins and jewelry. Would you be excited???? That’s a stupid question. We would all probably scream until we couldn’t speak and then pass out from the excitement. A treasure of that proportion would be awesome…but how much more incredible is God’s word! God’s word is His love letter to us. If God’s word is a lamp unto our feet and a light unto our path (psalm 119:105) then why don’t we rejoice in it as we would a great treasure? If hiding God’s word in our heart will help us in our struggles with sin (psalm 119:11), then why don’t we get excited about it? Wouldn’t it be the greatest thing if we all woke up excited and eager to open His word and find out what He wants to say to us that day. It can happen. Truly think about how you view God’s word. Ask Him to give you a desire and passion to read His word daily. Getting to know Christ intimately through His word and prayer is how you grow as a Christian. I encourage all of you to read Psalm 119. It is the most incredible chapter because the psalmist speaks of His hunger and passion for God’s laws and statutes. Reading that chapter should be an encouragement to us all…that we, like the psalmist can truly rejoice in God’s word as one who finds great treasure.

-Brandi

SOMEDAY HEAVEN’S MEANINGLESS THOUGHT OF THE WEEK

You’re 10 years old and walking to school. A guy drives by and splashes mud all over you. It’s hard to decide whether you should go home, change and be late or go to school all muddy. So while you were deciding I drove by and splashed you again.

PRAYER REQUESTS

Allow us the privilege of praying for your needs. Send your prayer requests to prayerrequest@somedayheaven.com. We’d love to pray for you. If you’ve sent a prayer request in the past, please let us know how God answered your prayer so we can praise God with you.

A special prayer request

Please pray for Dackral Phillips and family. Dackral is webmaster for somedayheaven.com. He is an awesome man of God and a terrific friend. Dackral’s grandfather passed away this week. Please keep him and his family in your prayers. It’s comforting to know that Mr. Rod Sanders is with Jesus. He lived an amazing life. He was devoted to Christ, his family, his church, and his country. Those of us who knew Mr. Sanders grately respect and admire him.

Please pray for us… - Pray for the upcoming events…that lives would be changed and that God would be glorified. - Pray for our individual walks with Christ….that we would seek Him passionately in His word and prayer. - Future endeavors…Pray for God’s guidance and for us to keep our focus directly on HIM. - We are currently praying about recording another CD. Please pray that we follow the Lord’s guidance and wait upon Him through this process.

We love you guys! We hope you have an awesome weekend in Christ.
